The Oratory Prep varsity soccer team once again showed its dominance by defeating Roselle Park 7-1. The Rams started fast, and Sal Mercurio gave them the lead after a wonderful pass by Jack Bizub led to Mercurio beating the keeper. Roselle Park tied the game shortly after, and Oratory went into halftime tied 1-1. However, whatever the coaches said at halftime clearly worked, as the Rams came out fast in the second half, and never looked back. Eric Kleppinger played a beautiful through-ball to Jack Bizub, and the forward had the simple job of beating the keeper from a short distance. After taking the lead, the Rams never looked back. Bizub ended up finishing the game with a hat trick, while Sal Mercurio and A.J. Kopacz each had two goals, and PJ Herbert had one goal. Kopacz also had two assists, the same number as James Gagliano. Sebastian Ramirez had 12 saves to keep Roselle Park at bay. Oratory next takes on Roselle at home on Tuesday.
