Will Gagliano’s game-winning goal and assist lead the varsity soccer team to a crucial 3-2 victory over Cranford on Saturday. Although Jack Bizub put the team up 1-0 within the first two minutes of the game, OP fell behind 2-1 in the second half. Sal Mercurio fired a 30+ yard free kick into the back of the net to tie up the game (see @salmerks on Instagram for the goal). AJ Kopacz added an assist and Sebastian Ramirez had six saves in the win. This was a critical victory for the team as Cranford is a division higher than OP, thus helping the team possibly gain a higher seed in the upcoming Union County tournament. Come out to support the team at home tomorrow, 9/30/14, against Johnson.
