We are halfway through the Oratory JV Soccer Season, and the team has had a strong start. With 3 wins, 2 draws, and 4 losses, the JV team looks hungrier than ever. Sophomore midfielder Jordan Hotra had some comments about the beginning of the season. “We had a strong first few games, we are slowing down a bit as of late, but I am optimistic that we’ll bounce back.”
We also asked him, “What’s the best part about being on the team?” “The best part is definitely the passion of the team, it can carry us through the season regardless of our skill. Whether we have the skill or not, we have the passion. Coach DeHaven has given us the tools to win this season; it’s up to us to use them.”
When facing adversity this season, Sophomore midfielder/defender Mark Hanna responded, “We are going to respond by training harder, working harder, and training our weaknesses for the rest of the season.
We asked the guys, ‘What are some team and personal goals you have this season?’ “We should look to improve our record and look to make it far in the county tournament. I also want to score this season,” said Mark Hanna.
Jordan Hotra added, “Finishing chances and helping my teammates.”
The team is captained by Sophomore defenders Xavier Santillan and Braden Olohan, and is led in scoring by Junior Brennan McEvoy with seven goals. The boys look to do great things this season, with their next game coming against St. Peter’s on Saturday. GO RAMS!
