Oratory Prep baseball defeated Brearley 6-5, in a contest that was very difficult given the playing conditions. On a rainy, wet, and cold day both teams battled and tried their best to earn a conference win. The Bears got the first laugh in the top half of the opening frame with an RBI single that drove in two runs for a 2-0 lead. Blake Duddy would then respond by cutting the Brearley lead in half with an RBI single that scored Joe Loiacono. After a scoreless 2nd inning by both teams, Brearley broke the game open with a 3-run 3rd inning thanks to a two-run homer. Being down by 5, the Rams would have to decide if they were up for the task of facing adversity and trying to win this crucial game. The Rams then responded with two runs to inch closer as the game was then 5-3. Albanito took over for Caden Breault and dominated. Albanito went 3 1/3 out of the pen to pitch a one-hitter while also having 3 strikeouts. His pitching allowed the Rams to eventually take the lead in the 5th inning of two errors by the Brearley shortstop. Albanito and the Rams were able to hang onto a 6-5 win that improved their record to 3-3 (2-1 in the Mountain Division). Brendan Keown had a day by going 2-3 while his brother Patrick when 3-4. Logan Costello and Joe Loiacono both had an RBI and multi hit games, while all these boys led the way offensively.
