On Wednesday, April 9th, Oratory Prep had the privilege of welcoming Tim Tebow to campus. Tebow, a 2x National Champion as a Florida Gator, shared a powerful message about faith and service. The Heisman trophy winner was asked a series of questions by Mr. Martin and Michael Mascera about not only his playing days, but also how he owns and operates The Tim Tebow Foundation. The company aims to provide physical and spiritual care for children who have been left homeless or abandoned, especially in poorly developed countries. Tebow was able to share stories about the times he has encountered these children. Through intense belief in the bible, Tebow noted how he was able to give these children hope, while also finding a way to learn valuable lessons from the children themselves.
The session ended with a Q&A. Tebow was asked about what SEC road environments were like, how he was able to lead a top-ranked football team, and how seniors can keep a relationship with God as they prepare to depart for college in the fall.
It truly was an honor listening to Tebow speak. It is not every day you are able to meet one of the most influential people of our time. A big thanks to everyone who was involved in setting up/planning this visit. It was not taken for granted, and his message will resound with us for life.
