On Tuesday the Oratory Prep soccer team played their third straight home game, this time against the Hillside Comets. The Rams looked to get in the win column after two tough losses to strong opponents Scotch Plains and St Peters Prep. The Rams opened the scoring thanks to Sean Van Hoven in the 5th minute of the game for his second goal of the season. The rest would follow as Max Cook netted his first goal of the season thanks to a Henry Griffiths assist, putting the Rams up 2-0. Griffiths would go onto get a goal of his own minutes after Cook’s, adding three to the tally. Cook finished the half with two more goals thanks to assists from once again Henry Griffiths, and Bruno Pastore. Matt Pasternak would score his first career varsity goal minutes into the second half for the last of the 6, putting the Rams up 6-0. George Fagan and Eric Devomecourt each had 1 save, both earning a well respected clean sheet. Cook would get the clipboard for the game by having a hatrick, as well as two assists. The Rams play their first divional game against Linden away, in which the Rams wish to start a winning streak, with facing three divisional opponents to follow.
