Microsoft has done the impossible. In school, they teach that there are three states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Microsoft has made another.
The Topological Superconductor hosts Majorana Particles, the blu, which are stable, error-free, and quantum error-free. With a quantum computer, calculations can be computed before your eyes can process them. Microsoft aims to make this quantum computer, which will change the future forever. However, the problem they always encountered was that our previous three states of matter could not handle the instability and wouldn’t run the quantum computer correctly. This new state of matter can handle quantum stability, making it error-free and much better than the superconducting ones at Google and IBM.
This is important because it is a breakthrough in condensed matter physics, proving that Majorana Particles are real. They have been in theory since the 1930s but could never be proven with the technology of that day. This massive breakthrough sets the stage for our futuristic technology, especially for Microsoft.
To be honest, I don’t know exactly what path these technologies will take, but I hope it is for the better. Right now, I envision technology becoming so powerful that we aren’t even able to understand it. We are advancing so rapidly that it may be the downfall of our civilization. But for now, this is one step to a futuristic, technologically advanced world.
