The History of Mrs. Peters

October 5, 2022

The other day we were granted the joy of interviewing a new faculty member and teacher, Mrs. Peters. A qualified graduate from Seton Hall University, teaching since 2007, and now residing in Westfield, Mrs. Peters has happily found herself at Oratory Prep. Mrs. Peters has so far become a favorite of many Oratory students in her first month due to her bright and electric attitude towards school. She balances her class with the perfect amount of education and fun, a recipe for interactive learning. We had a few questions for her, starting with:

“What made you come to Oratory Prep?”
“I wanted to return to teaching after pregnancy, and I actually found the school through an Online posting. I also enjoyed the fact that the school is a local Catholic school with high values.”

“Interesting, and what interests you in teaching?”
“I really like school. I really enjoy engaging with students and watching them learn. I also enjoy creating a good space for students to be interactive. I enjoy seminars etc. Nothing I like better than watching students flourish.”

“Great, how would you rate your experience at Oratory so far, 1 being terrible, 10 being everything you could have asked for?”
“ A total 12-amazing. You guys have been just awesome. You guys are funny, engaged, and a total pleasure to be around. The faculty and administration is also absolutely amazing.”

“Thank you for being in this interview. One last question: what did you want to do as a kid, and is there any advice you would give someone in high school trying to find themselves?”
“I wanted to be a lawyer ever since I was a kid, specifically a constitutional lawyer. Some advice I’d give high schoolers is don’t let today’s decisions define who you are in the long run. Allow yourself to change and branch out; nothing is written in stone. Allow yourself to evolve and constantly reflect.”
