As the basketball season wrapped up and spring sports are on the horizon, the tennis team is looking forward to a great season.  With seasoned captains Arnav Chahal and Matt Clark, the team is ready to hit the ground running. At the moment the seeding looks to be like Arnav Chahal is going to be the first single with Matt Clark at the second singles.

These two gentlemen have been on the ball and racquet courts since their youth honing their craft. Arnav Chahal is said to be able to hit serves at around 100 miles per hour, and Matt Clark simply does not miss. In the words of Matt DeAngelis “These two are dawgs, and they know their way around the courts.” Arguably no one could have said it better than Matty D, no one except Emmett Gaffney calling Arnav the “hot tamale” and Matt Clark the “Baja Blast,” an unstoppable duo.

Additionally, there is Colin Reis, Thomas Donofrio, Josh Sun, and Josh Jones all of whom are ready to show their true colors on the ball and racquet courts. Thomas Donofrio is looking to take the third singles spot after an incredible showing at first doubles the year before, but he will have some tough competition against Reis and Jones. Josh Sun is a new addition to the varsity roster, but he will undoubtedly bolster the position he plays.

However, the glue of the team is the coach, and what better coach is there than Michael Jordan Manna aka MJ. MJ in his prime was known to whip balls around the courts up to 150 miles per hour, and his backhand, don’t get me started on his backhand.  One moment the ball was on his side of the court next thing you know he hits a winner on you. MJ’s economic prowess will also allow the team to outsmart their opponents just like his grandfather who is known as the godfather of restaurants with his monopoly over the restaurant business in New Jersey. Have you ever been to a Mcdonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, or steakhouse?  Those were all built single-handedly by MJ’s grandfather.

The Oratory tennis team is looking stronger than ever before. We possess both the brains and the brawn, and we will be sure to dominate anytime that comes before us Westfield, dominated, Summit, dominated, Kent Place, dominated.  No team will stand in our way and we will be sure to win every trophy that tennis has to offer, Australian Open, done, US Open, done, Wimbledon, too easy. OP Ball and Racquet is going to be a force to be reckoned with so opposing teams should be afraid.
