This Thursday I had the honor of interviewing OP Puck captain Jeff Jarvis. Considered the best hockey player to ever play for Oratory, Jarvis has earned MVP in all of his past three seasons with the Rams. Just last year in his Junior season, Jarvis hit the one-hundred point mark which was an unprecedented event. This year much is expected from both the team and captain Jarvis. In this interview I asked Jeff about himself and the team this year:

How does the team look this year?

This is most likely one of the best teams I’ve been on since being at OP. We lost a lot of talent losing last year’s seniors. Overall, we are a much more dominant team I believe.

What expectations do you have for the team?

I have high expectations for the freshmen as they play a big role in our line-up this year. My expectation is to try and make the second round of states (something Oratory has never done).

How do you feel about your 100 point milestone and how are you going to build off of that this year?

It was a nice feeling to achieve that milestone but I can’t get caught up dwelling on the past.

Do you think Oratory can win the division this year?

I think the division is wide open this year. If we put in the work needed we can definitely take the division home this year.

Who is your favorite NHL player and why?

Not current, but Sean Avery was my favorite player. He’s small, scrappy, and annoying to play against.

Do you plan on playing hockey after you graduate?

I most likely will play club hockey at college.
