Over spring break, the Oratory baseball team traveled down to Orlando, Florida to prepare for the upcoming season. When arriving on Saturday afternoon, the team was met by warm weather, perfect for baseball season. The team stayed at the Cabana Bay Resort, the hotel of Universal Studios and played games hosted by KSA Events.

The team played a total of 5 games, all against very strong teams. First up was Marple Newton of Pennsylvania. Both teams showed offensive skill, driving in many runs throughout the game. With key situational hits, Oratory put up 5 runs on the board. However, the game was very close, ending in a 6-5 loss. Next up was Horace Mann School from Bronx, New York. With very good performances on the mound and at the plate, the team held a lead early in the game. The lead shuffled between both teams, but the game (which was supposed to be a doubleheader) ended in a tie. The next day, the team suffered losses against Lackawanna and Berkeley Carroll. However, the team showed tremendous scoring abilities, highlighted by several home runs from the players. On the final day, Oratory ended on a high note by defeating Berkeley Carroll JV. Every player on the team stepped up and took part in the victory, ending in a mercy rule.

In addition to the games, the players on the team enjoyed their evenings at Universal Studios. At the two parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, everyone enjoyed going on the rides, such as Hulk and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

On this trip, the team had a tremendous time on and off the field. Everyone felt very prepared for the upcoming season in Jersey and got used to performing with full intensity in game-situations. The games had given the players and coaches a taste of what is very strong and what needs improvement. Most importantly, the players had fun and created countless memories with their teammates.
