Twas The Month Before Christmas

Nick Looney , Staff Writer

Twas the month before Christmas, and all through the Oratory,

Not a creature was stirring, not even Emerson Orr-atory

The memes were put on the TV with care,

In hopes that someone would look up there.

The student council set up the tree with difficulty,

Even though helping, adults we had 3.

And our ornament builder Will was found,

On the cold floor, with tons of glitter around.

When out on the field there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the locker room to see what was the matter.

Away to the door I flew like a flash,

Tore open the door, to see winter track dash.

The new building still wasn’t ready,

Luckily, the progress seemed to be going steady.

When, what to my wandering eyes should appear,

But a bus full of students, their loud joking I could hear.

With a bus driver, so lively and hair not yet gray-gy,

I knew in a moment it must be Mr. Plagge.

The students were in a rush, they must’ve been,

Mr. Plagge stopped new passengers, and said “only sixteen!”

Now, Freshmen! now, Sophomores! now, juniors and seniors!

On, 7th grade! On, 8th grade! on, faculty, on alumni!

Now it’s time to get jolly! Christmas is nigh!
