After coming off of their stunning win against the favored New England Patriots, the first place Eagles took on the Buffalo Bills on their home turf in Lincoln Financial Field. In the Eagles starting quarterback’s second week back, Sam Bradford threw for 247 yards and one touchdown. Bradford’s main target throughout the game was the former Stanford tight-end Zach Ertz, who received 98 of Bradford’s 247 yards. However, this was not the only news made coming into the game. Most Eagle fans were highly anticipating the return of one of the Eagles and NFL’s all time great running backs – LeSean McCoy.

McCoy was traded over the offseason to Buffalo for LB Kiko Alonso. This year both men have been riddled with injuries, but McCoy has come on strong in the second half of the season. There were speculations of racism when Eagles Coach Chip Kelly traded him, with most people saying that he “did not know how to handle African-American men.” Kelly says that the real reason was to free up cap space for the Eagles new quarterback, Sam Bradford. Even though we do not know the full story, Kelly and McCoy’s relationship is over and they are now enemies. Throughout the week there were rumors of McCoy hanging up on Kelly during a phone call (denied by both parties), and McCoy on record said that he was not going to shake Chip Kelly’s hand. Even though the week up to the game was filled with drama, the game itself, as usual, did not live up to expectations. Although the Eagles are in first place, they still need to improve greatly before the playoffs, or else the playoffs will be very short for us Eagle fans from New Jersey.
