Oratory Prep cross country star Brendan Lawlor has been lighting up the course. In his 4th and final year, Lawlor has staked his claim as a major role model for the underclassmen. Running a PR of 18:11, he has cemented himself in the heart of the varsity team. Even after PR-ing, Lawlor says that his main goal for the season is to break the 18 minute mark. The team has experienced massive success so far this season by placing well at all meets and finishing fourth at counties. With Catholics and States approaching soon, excitement is bubbling throughout the team. When asked what challenges the team could face, Lawlor highlighted impending colder weather and an extremely challenging course at Holmdel State Park. However, Lawlor believes the team has the physical and mental toughness to overcome these obstacles and continue Oratory’s climb to the top of NJ cross country.
